Clovelly, High Street

Built originally as a grocers, this four storey brick property in more recent years became a derelict property in much need of restoration. Despite its deterioration over the years mainly as a result of water ingress, the property has managed to maintain many of its original features so commonly associated with the architecture of Llandrindod Wells such as the balcony with its attractive wrought iron pillars and its detailed stone work.

THI works include the re-roofing, structural consolidation of the building, renovation of all timber windows and doors, the re-instatement of sash windows where they have been removed or altered, reinstatement of leaded lights, renewal of balcony and re-instatement of timber balustrading, repairs to brickwork and the restoration and re-instatement of stonework.

This project has been developed in conjunction with the property owner and the Local Authority’s Private Housing section broadening the scope of works being carried out which is enabling this prominent derelict building to be brought back into use and as a result providing 2 commercial units and 15 residential units.
