Marlborough House, Station Crescent

Marlborough House before and after restoration

This prominent corner property at the junction of Middleton Street and Station Crescent had unfortunately at some point lost its timber balcony at first floor level, so as part of the THI grant the balcony was repaired and the balustrading was re-instated. This included repair and replacement of cast iron decorative brackets and decorative capitals to the cast iron columns, and the re-instatement of lime plastering to the underside. Other grant works included the re-instatement of cast iron rain water goods, repair of lime plaster to panelling on turret, lead work, repairs to chimney, replacement of stained glass panel to side entrance, renewal of fascia’s and soffits, replacement of modern shop door and redecoration of the property.
