The Glen Usk Hotel, South Crescent

The Glen Usk Hotel before and after restoration

The main works to this large central hotel were the repair of the existing cast iron verandah, its re-glazing and the re-instatement of its portico entrance. Using evidence from old photographs of the hotel the portico was re-built over the pavement.  Other minor repair works were carried out to the roof, fascia & bargeboards and the window domed turret known as a cupola or ‘Butler’s Tower’ as it was once used for spotting the carriages of guests approaching the hotel.
